Got out bed this morning and bumped my toe. That’ ll teach me to get out of bed again.
Sorry for the gory detail of the above image. Nevertheless I thought I’d show you the uncensored detail of the result of my clumsiness. No epic or heroic story to be told here. Drowsy from sleep I bumped right into the bedpost. I immediately registered that this wasn’t a mere stubbed toe. I guess anybody who has ever broken a limb can relate. You just know that it is broken.
Needless to say this throws me back in my training plans for the Great North Run quite a bit. From what I hear a broken toe can take anything from 4 weeks to several months to heal fully. At least it’s the pinkie toe which doesn’t have to bear as much weight as say the big one.
I hope to take part in the Munich City Run at the end of June.
Still hasn’t changed my resolution to run the Great North Run sub 1:45:00.
