I have been quiet for a while, but if you can read this it means if have succesfully managed to move my homepage to WordPress. I have been using Jimdo for a few years but have been outgrowing it’s functionality, specially when it come to blogging. I have tried to keep the design as close to my former page, with a few changes like the font type and a other things where appropriate and necessary.
Apart from fiddling with the homepage I am slowly wrapping up my current vfx project with AixSponza, a campaign for BOSCH, which I will post as soon as it it officially released.
Fatherhood has been pure joy so far. Vincent is a very happy child, smiling a lot a slowly finding the power of his voice with squeals, gurgling and baby mumbling.
The toe is slowly healing up and I started training again last Thursday. Although it is still swollen it seems to be holding up ok. I am quite hopeful that I can take part in the Munich City Run half marathon on the 28th. Only gives me another week for training, which will be moderate anyways, as training should be the week before a race, so don’t expect any record times.
Please continue donating for my fundraising effort for MIND for the Great North Run. Any help is much appreciated and every penny counts. I still have quite a way to go to reach my aim of 500 pounds.
Since I am busy with work and fatherhood I have stuck to Munich locations for my photography ambitions. I have lived here most of life, with exception for a few months as child going to primary school near Manchester and my postgraduate year in Bournemouth. I am trying to shoot locations away from the beaten path of the tourists sites. I love photography of abandoned and derelict places (ruin porn as it is aptly named sometimes), which Munich -being the chichi place it is- has a distinctive lack of. Nevertheless there are still a few gems to be found if one searches long enough. Check out the gallery here.
I took the picture above for the old and now derelict train station which was built for the Olympic Games 1972. The shrubs have taken over the place but it still show traces of parties for the young or sleeping quarters for the homeless. I felt like I had to revisit the place because in 2003 (wow 12 years ago already) we shot the music video “Been There” for my band “Fool’s Last Joke” . You can watch here Been There – Fool’s Last
Good old Rock ‘n’ Roll days. Still had an earring then 😉
Munich people If you know of any good (preferably abandoned/derelict locations) for photography pleas let me know.
