Working, running, giving baby bottles. Sums up my life since my last post.
Exceptions were our family holiday at Lake Garda. I took a few great photos that I have not added to my personal page, but you can see quite a view of them on my new Viewbug account. Feel free to vote for my images if you like them.
4 more days until the Great North Run. Training has been going very well and I am still very optimistic I can hit my goal of running under 1:45:00. If you want to support my fundraising effort for MIND, please donate here.
Did a last weekend of crosstraining by biking and hiking in the Karwendel National Park in the Alps with a few of my best friends. The weather was pretty miserable with snow, rain and ice.Far from the perfect hiking and mountainclimbing weather, but we braved the Kleine Stempeljoch Spitze (2539m) and the Pfeiser SPitze (2347m) nontheless. Also the biking part through the Gleirsch- und Samervalley, to reach our mountain hut -the Pfeishuette- was excellent leg training. Especially for me, not being an experienced bike.
We arrived in Newcastle yesterday. To run the Great North Run and visit familiy. It was Vincent’s first flights (flights, actually, as it was a connecting flight from Amsterdam) and I am proud to say he is he perfect travel baby. No crying, no fuss, took everything in with big eyes, smiled a lot and sleept through a lot of the flight. He was slightly wound up in the evening after a long day, which is very understandable. God boy. He will turn into quite the globe trotter I hope.
Did a little trainings run in Jesmond Dene, a lovely public park in Newcastle, with Paddy, my brother, a slowly the excitment for the Great North RUn is closing in on me. 50.000 runnerr, red arrows over the Tyne Bridge, Mo Farrah… here we come.
